Taste Virginia Wine at the London International Wine Fair

Taste Virginia Wine at the London International Wine Fair
In the Winery:  Thanks to Southern United States Trade Association and Chris Parker of New Horizon Wines, Virginia wines were praised by Europe's prime-time television and hard-hitting newspapers. Eight winery owners and winemakers from eleven of Virginia best wineries offered 35 Virginia wines at the London International Wine Fair, the world’s largest wine trade show in London. 30,000 wines were offered to 18,000 attendees, and it wasn't long before many of these came asking to taste Virginia's fine wines. In fact, world-reknowned wine critic Stephen Spurrier went directly to the Virginia booth upon his arrival, and after tasting all 35 wines, declared Pearmund Cellars 2007 Petit Verdot the best wine of the Virginia offerings. The world’s most prolific wine writer and TV host, Oz Clarke, agreed the following day.

However, Viogniers were the biggest surprise to most attendees, and Virginia's Viogniers were considered the best in the world. By the end of the show, it was clear that  Virginia hit prime-time with Viognier, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. And, Pearmund Cellars varietals were regarded among the best, gaining interest from four European wine importers, several chain wine shops, and many restaurants. Watch for summer issues of Decanter Magazine. Stephen Spurrier may be writing "Bottleshock II: Virginia."

Also, several of our customers have been asking about investment opportunities in our expanding Virginia wine industry. If you are interested in learning the economics of investing in new or existing wineries.

Our People

Pearmund Cellars is well-known for being a friendly place to relax with a glass of fine wine. Each time they return, our customers bring more friends, family, and colleagues to relax at their favorite winery and become part of our family. We heartily appreciate your support, and at this time would like to recognize Bill and Edna Perdew who have visited Pearmund Cellars almost every week since our grand opening.
