It's About the Wine - and the Critics Agree... Voted Best Winery in Virginia

2017 Ameritage

2010 ameritage best virginia wines

Done in a smooth Bordeaux-style, Pearmund Cellars continues its tradition of using the five classic Bordeaux grape varietals to have one finished product.  Aromas of warm bramble preserves, with a touch of toasted oak, red cherries, and warm spice envelop the senses.

2017 Old Vine Chardonnay

2013 old vine chardonnay best virginia wines

Our 2017 estate wine provides the crisp tartness of green apples, vanilla custard, and lemon zest, with hints of Asian pear and hazelnut. Flavors of green apple, citrus and vanilla are found in this medium bodied, well balanced wine with a subtle oak finish. One hundred percent malolactic fermentation sur-lie style Chardonnay aged 9 months in French Oak gives this wine a hint of butter and softness on the palate.

2018 Viognier

2016 viognier best virginia wines

The state grape of Virginia! Wonderful hints of white peach, gardenia and honeysuckle highlight this award winning wine. Stonefruit and hints of Vanilla, honeydew, and lychee flavors linger on the long, soft finish. The wine is fermented in stainless steel, followed by 8 months of aging in neutral French oak and Acacia wood, sur-lie style.

2017 Petit Verdot

2014 petot verdot best wine in virginia

A luscious wine with 9 months in American Oak, bringing out black raspberries, cassis, earthy wood, and spice on the nose. Big flavors of jammy fruit with nutmeg, anise, cinnamon, and caraway can be found, rounded out by the tannins, giving it a hearty mouth feel and long finish.

Harvest ‘Asado’ Dinner @ pearmund cellars
Oct 3 @ 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm

This year's theme of our Harvest Dinner will be an Asado.  An Asado is a family and friend oriented experience focused on slowly grilled meat cooked over an open-wood fire. While the meat slowly grills, Pampa’s Fox will start the dining experience with a variety of flavorful appetizers cooked over the hot grill (mini kabobs with Argentine chorizo and veggies, chicken with bacon & pineapple and a vegetarian kabob as well. Also their famous empanadas with flaky dough filled with mozzarella cheese & onions.

For the main course, the Asador will serve Argentine skirt steak and chicken thighs with lemon, fresh thyme and mustard. Side dishes will include roasted potatoes, sweet potatoes and creative authentic salads. Following the Argentine tradition, there is always chimichurri and fresh bread at the table!!

To finish a delicious meal an Argentine dessert “arrollado” sponge cake with dulce de leche, whipped cream and fresh strawberries will be served.

Cost for the event is $89. This includes a welcome cocktail, dinner, live music and a Trio of wines that have been paired with the meal (or you can make your own selections). All additional wines will be available for purchase with friendly prices to enjoy during dinner or to take home.

All tables will be spaced appropriately apart, and all precautions and guidance will be taken to ensure the safety of all. We are limiting attendance to 80 people to further ensure safety and comfort. We look forward to seeing you at our Harvest Dinner!!

What to expect as we enter Phase 3

The Governor's move to Phase 3 has us changing things....all for the better.

Reservations are no longer necessary. We invite all to come on their own schedule and stay as long as they like. No longer will we be 'hard stopping' at 230pm, to prepare for a second seating. Our friends are welcome to come at anytime during any day to enjoy Virginia's best wine.

Limited amount of premium table reservations are still accepted. Blocks for the reservations remain 11:30 - 2:15 and 3pm - close. Guests are welcome to stay through the first seating, but may be asked to relocate to another table if there is an afternoon reservation for the table where you are sitting. Reservations are secured by purchasing a $50 gift card for use on your visit, by calling 540.347.3475.

All seating is still outside. In the event of rain, we have covered areas (and cars!) to wait it out.

Our sanitation levels and rule set haven't changed. We have procedures in place to secure everyone's safety. We ask of you to wear a mask when addressing our staff, keeping 6 feet between parties and to keep the kids at home.

All questions can be answered by calling 540.347.3475.

Tastings in the traditional way have not yet returned, but we now offer wine flights, allowing you to enjoy three of your favorite wines in one sitting.
