Pearmund Cellar’s Wine Library
Since Pearmund Cellars focuses on Virginia wine education, we thought the perfect addition to our award winning wines, would be a library of wine education books. Chris Pearmund and a fellow wine geek, Jerry Motter came up with the idea and worked together to make it a reality.
Motter worked with Chris at Total Beverage, and then moved on to be a wine buyer at Whole Foods, Wegmans, and Fresh Fields. He is the Regional VP of the American Wine Society (Make “American Wine Society” a link to the AWS education page). Motter is also an amateur wine maker and grows many varietals at his home in Warrenton.
The collection of books is rather large and the topics include:
-information on how to make wine
-how to taste wine
-the history of wine and general knowledge. T
-fiction and non-fiction
-biographies on some of the great winemakers
-small section on beer and spirits as well
This quiet room is a great place to come read and learn about wine and about winemaking in general. The quiet space is behind our barrel room, so you can enjoy peace and quiet as you check out our books!
If you have any books you would like to donate, or if you would like to come explore our library, come visit us between 10AM – 6PM any day of the week!
